I’m Daniel Breuer.

I work as a software engineer doing systems programming and networking in aerospace. I try to bring a pragmatic approach to work despite my background in software. What do we actually need right now? What trade-offs make sense to solve the problem at hand?

Currently, I work at Airbus where we are part of building a fully optical (“laser-link”) network of low-earth-orbit satellites and ground stations: The HydRON↗ demonstration system.
I’m the software lead for a system which orchestrates experiments in this network. Here I do programming, system and protocol architecture, managing of subcos, and some Linux networking stuff.

Concurrently, I’m doing my master’s degree in computer science in Karlsruhe↗.
